In order to continue to work toward our shared lifesaving goals, effective August 1, Best Friends Sanctuary-based lodging, along with our Sanctuary and Roadhouse and Mercantile, will begin transitioning into our longer-term COVID Operating Plan. We are excited to welcome guests from all across the country! The plan we have in place reflects the best thinking from our experiences in dealing with COVID, government guidelines and credible medical evidence.
The protocols all staff, visitors and volunteers will be asked to follow when on Best Friends grounds consist of but are not limited to:
Requiring the completion of a health screening questionnaire before being allowed to visit, volunteer or stay in any of our lodging options.
Frequent hand washing and/or hand sanitizing.
In addition, guests and visitors can expect dedicated and efficient care in the following ways:
Frequent disinfecting of high-touch areas and daily disinfecting of all trafficked areas.
Limiting visitors and volunteers as to number, access to indoor areas, tasks and areas visited.
Compliance, at a minimum, with all CDC, national, state and local laws and guidelines, including any non-local "stay at home" orders.
"Together We Can Save Them All" was true when we coined the phrase, it is becoming even more true given the direction in which the movement is going, and it is now directly applicable to our commitment to keeping each other safe during this challenging time.
Thank you for your continued commitment to the animals.
